I was a fan of PHP for several years until I learned C#, C++, TypeScript, Python, Clojure, Dart, and a few others. PHP may have a future but it’s not going to be anything groundbreaking or industry-shaking by any means. Not that it has to be, because there needs to be a language for general-purpose everyday web server stuff (that’s about all it does though, as you won’t build a mobile app, web front-end, IoT device, synthesizer, or any other cool stuff with PHP.) Having said that, it probably will have a future in building simple websites and APIs for a long time. PHP is dead, long live PHP.
